Southwell Minster is a splendid Anglo-Norman building that has been the Cathedral Church of the Nottinghamshire Diocese since 1884. The Minster (01636 812649) frequently hosts musical, theatrical and artistic events together with a spring and autumn craft fair. A purpose-built complex alongside houses the Minster Refectory (01636 815691), open every day with a range of meals and snacks, and the Minster Shop (01636 812933).
